Frequently Asked Questions
Most domains are transferred in about 6 days, and is governed by the domain registrars as well as the third-party intermediary handling the transfer of funds and the domain. There can be delays if there’s a problem with your payment.
These are all industry-trusted third-party platforms where domain owners can list their domains for sale. Anyone wanting to purchase a domain can place an order by paying one of these platforms for the domain. The domain owner is notified and the domain is transferred to the platform. Then the domain is safely transferred to the buyer (you), and funds are paid to the domain owner (me).
The transaction is safe for both the buyer and the seller.
The third-party platforms that facilitate the purchase each offer different forms of payment. Generally, you can pay with a credit card, PayPal or wire transfer.
Yes, you can transfer the domain to your favorite registrar. The domains are currently registered at Dynadot because they offer an excellent platform for domain registration, and their prices are extremely competitive. The domain can stay there, or you can transfer to any registrar you want. You normally have to pay for another year’s registration if you want to move the domain to a registrar other than where it is currently registered, so you may have to pay a fee to your registrar for that, above the cost you pay to purchase the domain.
You will own the domain. Therefore, you can use it however you see fit. You can build a website, sell the domain to another party, hold it for later use, or anything else you want to do with it.
I have priced my domains very competitively, so many of my buyers turn around and list the domains for sale again. If you can do that and make a profit, more power to you!
No, all the domains I’m selling do NOT include a website or web hosting. You will need to develop a site yourself, and get your own web hosting.
I recommend Dreamhost for hosting websites.
Great question! Because you will be purchasing the domain through an industry-trusted third-party intermediary, your money is safe. I don’t get paid until after I transfer the domain to the intermediary. If I don’t transfer the domain, your money is never paid to me, and you would get your money back. But that’s not going to happen because once I receive notice that a domain was purchased, I will transfer it ASAP.
In fact, in many cases, the domain is transferred automatically through Fast-Transfer, which allows the domain to be transferred immediately upon payment, without me having to make the transfer manually.
My name is Fred Kelley. I’ve been involved with websites and domain names since 1995. I’ve run a number of online businesses, and bought and sold thousands of domain names.
